I lost over 150 pounds and have kept if off for over 8 years now. It was a journey I never thought I would be able to accomplish. I understand the struggle to lose weight and how stressful dieting can be. That’s why I am writing this book. I am hoping it will help inspire others to never give up. I ought to know; I had many failed attempts to lose weight until I learned about the whole food plant-based way of eating.
I am amazed as much as anyone that I managed to keep it off. For all the years of being heavy, you would think I would have regained the weight by now. But, as you’ll discover in this book, I doubt I will ever have to worry about obesity again. This way of eating allows me to eat as much as I want without resorting to counting calories. I was one who would obsessively count calories and get discouraged and give up. That’s what I love about the way I eat now... no counting!
I know there are a lot of ads out there asking people to sign up for the latest dieting schemes. They are to be ignored, as they are all gimmicks in my opinion. They will help you lose weight initially but it won’t be for the long term. I feel that the sustained weight loss that worked for me can work for anybody but it requires a lifestyle change. You cannot continue to eat the same foods that led to your obesity and health problems and expect to succeed. Personally, I did not lose any weight until I took a stand for my health.
